Formula & Milk Drinks

You can freeze our formula for up to 3 months – in powder form, not made-up.

We encourage you to transition slowly from step 1 to step 2 using our Seven-Day Transition Plan.

Day 1: For your baby’s first morning feed, offer one bottle of the new formula. For the remaining feeds for the day, offer the previous formula.

Day 2: Offer the new formula for the first two feeds of the day, then the previous formula for the remaining feeds.

Day 3: Offer the new formula for the first three feeds of the day, then the previous formula for the remaining feeds.

Days 4-7: Continue this method until your baby has fully transitioned across to the new formula, which may take around seven days.

Regular cow milk contains two main types of beta casein protein, A2 protein and A1 protein. Beta Genica-8 uses milk from cows chosen to naturally produce only the A2 protein type and no A1. This is naturally occurring and not created through genetic engineering or other technological processes.

Some people who experience issues drinking regular cow milk may experience benefits when they switch to milk containing only the A2 beta casein protein.

Bellamy’s Organic does not have samples of our formula we abide by the SIFECS Code.

At this stage Bellamy’s Organic won’t be producing a low lactose or lactose free formula. Removing or reducing lactose from our milk is yet another level of manufacturing and processing that really can’t work for organic certification.

Classic:

Step 1: 60% whey, 40% casein
Step 2: 40% whey, 60% casein

Beta Genica-8:

Step 1: 65% whey, 35% casein
Step 2: 50% whey, 50% casein

If you are pre-preparing your formula, make up the formula and put it straight into the fridge – you need to make sure that you use refrigerated formula within 24 hours.  If your baby doesn’t drink the entire bottle, then you need to discard any unfinished feed.

Bellamy’s Organic does not have a subscription service and are not able to offer discounts on formula as we have to abide by SIFECS Code which aims to protect breastfeeding and ensure proper use of infant formula.

Food Products

Yes, you can freeze our Ready to Serve pouches for up to 2 months. Do not use the microwave to defrost the pouch. Once the product is defrosted the product needs to be served immediately in one serve. Any left-over product needs to be discarded.

All pre-packaged foods run through a retort (high heat) process for a determined time to kill any potential micro organisms. The process time (retorting) is calculated through extensive trials and is as short as possible to ensure no damage to the food. Baby food can typically be around 120 to 130 degrees for a few minutes to get total sterility. All micro-organisms are completely deactivated (not quite the same as destroyed, especially in the sweet range), there is no risk of microbial spoilage or associated food borne illness, if the seal on the pack is intact. The pouches are then sealed with samples from each batch tested to ensure the process is successful prior to releasing to the market.

The pouches can be kept unopened by the best before. Different pouches have different shelf lives, Custards are 12 months and Fruit purees are up to 15 months. We recommend consuming the product until the specified best before date which can be found on the back of the pack.

Currently none of our food range are Halal certified.
